Working with the Standard Toolbar

The Standard Toolbar of Image2Punch gives you a more convenient way to perform some tasks. It consists of 11 graphical buttons, several may be used only in the Imaging Design Environment, others only in the Tooling Generation Environment and some in both.

All the tasks triggered out by the Standard Toolbar buttons can also be found on the Menu toolbar under some menu groups.

The functionalities of the 11 graphical buttons on Standard toolbar are described (from left to right):

  • Click New to create a new image document. A New File dialog box will open to define the digital image size.
  • Click Open to open an existing digital image file. An Open File dialog box allows you browse the file from a particular directory and folder.
  • Click Save Image to save an image according to its original format. For example, if an existing digital image is in Bitmap format (BMP), it is automatically saved in Bitmap format. Save Image is disabled in the Tooling Generation Environment.
  • Click Save As Image to save the digital image either in BMP file format or in JPG file format (not in its original format). This menu item is available in both environments for saving what is on the Document Design Screen. Clicking Save As Image in the Image Design Environment saves the digital image. Clicking it in the Tooling Generation Environment on the other hand, the perforated pattern design based on the digital image in the first phase is saved.
  • Click Save File in DXF Format to save the perforated pattern in DXF format in Pro or Lite.
  • Click Save File in I2P Format to save the perforated pattern in I2P format in Genesis.
  • Click CAD Output File Preference to determine the DXF format style.
  • Clicking Statistic directs you to the Print Preview dialog where information about the perforated pattern which has been generated is displayed. You can also print the statistic report from the Print Preview dialog.
  • Clicking Print directs you to the “Print Preview” dialog. This allows you to see the layout of the digital image on the selected paper size before you chose to print.
  • Undo allows you to undo the current process and retrieve the previous process. This menu item is disabled under the following conditions;
    • When no processes are previously recorded, or the original image is unmodified or unaltered
    • When the image has been saved
    • When you are in the Tooling Generation Environment
  • Redo is only enabled when you have clicked Undo button. However, when you modify or alter the digital image soon after clicking Undo, Redo is disabled again as all the later processes is deleted. Like Undo, this menu item is disabled in Tooling Generation Environment.
  • Clicking About opens the About dialog box by which you may access information about the version of Image2Punch Software.
