Is Image2Punch an application for converting a sketch drawing into a CAD file? I have a CNC profile cutting machine and I need to convert my hand sketched design into DWG/DXF file(s) for profiling and contouring. Has the software been designed for this purpose?

Basically the software is able to convert any digital image into a perforated pattern design. The software can also be used for a plasma machine. I think what you are wanting is software that can be used to create a path or a polyline from any image into DXF/DWG format for your plasma machine.

I know it will take much time to create drawing parts and component for a machine to cut from a scanned image. I understand that there is plenty of software that can be used specifically to generate a DXF file automatically from any image for your art cuttings.

In my opinion, you could just “google” using some relevant keywords to find a suitable program for you, like “DXF vectorizing”, "convert image into DXF" for example.

I would be pleased if you want to try Image2Punch for your plasma cutting project. Image2Punch has not yet been used to layout a perforated metal project for plasma/laser cutting, but is possible to do this.

Why are there are Pro, Lite and Genesis in Image2Punch? How much does the licence cost?

This type of service is suitable for those who are in the beginning stages of experiencing Image2Punch for their perforated metal project. However, the maximum toolhit on Image2Punch Genesis will be limited to only 50000 hits.

Image2Punch Pro is developed specifically for those who want to use the full capabilities and potential of Image2Punch for their perforated metal project. Users can convert their perforated pattern design as much as they want without having to use the CAD conversion service. The current cost for the 2^nd version of Image2Punch Pro is $699 USD. Although users must pay for the license fee, they will have a free upgrade for the next adjacent version. The licensee also has the privilege of purchasing the future version with 50% off its current cost. For example, if a user purchased Image2Punch Pro version 2.0, they are also entitled to get a free upgrade for the next version, 3.0. Moreover, they are also entitled to get 50% discount for the 4^th version, 5^th version and so on.

Image2Punch Lite is specifically developed for those who want to use Image2Punch for their perforated metal project but do not want to use all the potential that Image2Punch can offer. In this version, the licence fee is $149 USD. The tool for generating perforated metal design will be limited to only round type tools and the perforated pattern type will only be square, 30, 45 and 60. The maximum tool hit will be limited to 10000 hits. Image2Punch Lite is suitable for those who do not want to use the CAD conversion service and the full capabilities of Image2Punch Pro for their perforated metal project. Image2Punch Lite’s license holder will be entitled to a 25% discount on the future release.Thus, if a user purchased Image2Punch Lite version 1.0, they will get 25% discount for the second version of Image2Punch Lite.

Can you tell me more about Image2Punch Genesis and how can I use the service?

One file (in I2P file format) to be converted into a DXF perforated pattern will cost 20 USD; a second file will be charged 10 USD, and the subsequent file(s) at 5 USD.

What is the relation between multiple licencing and discounting in purchasing the future version’s licence?

If you purchase a single licence or several licences, the discount for the future version will be applied either as a single licence or as several licences (depending on your initial purchase). You cannot get the discount for multiple licence upgrades if you only buy a single licence. Also, you cannot get a discount upgrade for a single licence if you buy multiple licences beforehand.

For example, if you buy 5 licences for Image2Punch Pro version 2, you will pay $ 1922.25 USD. Automatically, you will be entitled to 5 free licences for Image2Punch Pro version 3. However, you need to purchase 5 licences with the discount of 50% of its current licence fee if you want to get Image2Punch Pro version 4.0 or version 5.0 (i.e. $961.125 USD if the current licence fee is $699 USD).

I have been comparing your software with some others and would like to try yours by ordering a copy. If I did so, would I have to pay for an upgrade of the newer version that's coming out?

The current policy will let our customers get a free upgrade to the 2nd version if they buy our Image2Punch Pro 1st version. And in the future, 50% discount is given if the customer has already purchased the first version when they want to upgrade to the 3rd version.

The 2nd version of Image2Punch Pro will improve the current perforated pattern option by adding two additional pattern; Circular and Spiral. In addition, the 45 and 60 degree angle will be broadened to angles between 15 up to 75 degree angle.

The 2nd version will be released around March - April 2009. The new price will be US$ 699 to replace the introduction price in the first version.
