8. Generating Perforated Pattern Design
In this step, you will generate the perforated pattern based on the parameters below:

Before you can define all the parameters, you must click the Tooling tab on the Navigator Bar to go into Tooling Generation Environment.
- Click M button on the Navigator Bar to open the Material Property dialog box. Opening the dialog box can also be done by clicking Material Property menu item on Tooling menu on Menu Toolbar.
- Tick Mild Steel on Material Type group box to define the material type.
- Type 3.0 on the Material Thickness edit box to define the material thickness of the perforated sheet.
- Type 1800 on Width edit box and 1200 on Height edit box to define the sheet size.
- Click OK to confirm, and close the dialog box.

To define the tool to be used for pattern perforation:
- Click Select Tools button on the first panel of the Navigator Bar in Tooling Generation Environment.
- Click Add button on Selected Tool dialog box to add the first tool into the selected Tool library for pattern perforation
- The Selected Tool dialog box will pop up and you can select ROUND R5.5 by double clicking on the ROUND Tool type group.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add other tools for pattern perforation.
- Type 2.0 on minimum clearance between tool group box to define the clearance
- Click Close to close the dialog box.

All the selected tools are listed on Selected Tool dialog box
All other parameter can be defined directly on the Navigator Bar by clicking the desired button. After all are set up, click the Generate button to generate the perforated pattern based on the illustration of Union flag you created at the beginning.
The perforated pattern design is based on the image document and the viewing type is Material Pattern Viewing
